What is Kamagra?

  • Kamagra is a family of prescription medicines for erectile dysfunction.

  • Every product in the range contains sildenafil citrate.

  • Sildenafil is the molecule found in Viagra, approved since 1998.

  • Ajanta Pharma Ltd of India manufactures the whole range.

  • The range spans tablets, jellies, chewables, effervescent tablets and combinations.

  • The choice between them is about format and taste, not about the drug.

  • Identical active ingredient in every product.

  • Identical mechanism, contraindications and drug interactions.

  • Identical side-effect profile at any given dose.

  • The same hard limit of one dose in 24 hours.

  • The same requirement for sexual arousal to work.

  • The same prescription-only status everywhere.

Regulatory position

  • Sildenafil is approved worldwide, including by the FDA and in India.

  • The Kamagra brand is not approved in the US, the EU or the UK.

  • It is manufactured in India and exported to many markets.

  • Buy only from a licensed pharmacy against a valid prescription.

  • None works without sexual stimulation.

  • None raises libido or sexual desire.

  • None delays ejaculation, except Super Kamagra through its dapoxetine.

  • None changes penis size or shape.

  • None treats the underlying cause of erectile difficulty.

  • None protects against HIV or any other infection.

  • None is suitable for women or anyone under 18.

How It Works (Mechanism of Action)

  • Sexual stimulation triggers nitric oxide release in penile tissue.

  • Nitric oxide activates an enzyme called guanylate cyclase.

  • This enzyme raises cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) levels.

  • cGMP relaxes smooth muscle in the corpus cavernosum.

  • Relaxed muscle lets penile arteries widen and fill with blood.

  • Sildenafil inhibits PDE-5, so cGMP survives longer.

  • An enzyme called PDE-5 normally breaks cGMP down.

  • The erection forms more readily and holds better.

  • Sildenafil has no direct relaxing effect on erectile tissue by itself.

  • At recommended doses it has no effect without sexual stimulation.

  • It amplifies a natural process. It does not create one.

Why formats change timing, not action

  • Every format delivers the same molecule to the same enzyme.

  • What a format can change is how quickly the dose reaches the blood.

  • Sildenafil citrate dissolves in water at 3.5 mg per millilitre.

  • A dissolved form can in principle begin absorbing sooner than a tablet.

  • So the jelly and effervescent claims have a chemical basis.

  • What they lack is a published study measuring the difference.

  • Nothing a format does changes duration, side effects or interactions.

How to Take It

Common to every product:

  • Confirm with a doctor which strength suits you.

  • Check the pack is sealed and within its expiry date.

  • Take it about one hour before you expect to need it.

  • Anywhere from 30 minutes to 4 hours ahead is acceptable.

  • Avoid a heavy fatty meal in the hour before the dose.

  • Wait for arousal. No product works without it.

  • Take one dose only, and nothing further for 24 hours.

  • Fried food, rich curries, cheese-heavy dishes and creamy sauces all count.

  • Eating one of those first pushes the peak back roughly an hour.

  • It also lowers that peak by around a third.

  • The medicine still works. It simply works later and less strongly.

  • Many men blame the tablet when the real culprit was dinner.

  • This applies to every format in the range equally.

Missed doses

  • There is no schedule here, so nothing can be missed.

  • Never take a second dose because the first seemed weak.

  • If you have taken several, go to a hospital emergency department.

  • Dialysis does not help, because sildenafil binds tightly to blood proteins.

Precautions

These apply identically to every product in the range.

Absolute contraindications

  • Nitrate medicines of any kind, regular or occasional.

  • Nitroglycerin, isosorbide mononitrate and isosorbide dinitrate.

  • Sprays, patches and ointments count as much as tablets.

  • Recreational nitrites known as poppers, including amyl and butyl nitrite.

  • Riociguat or another guanylate cyclase stimulator.

  • Known allergy to sildenafil or to anything in the formulation.

  • Any case where a doctor has said sex is unsafe for your heart.

  • Use by women or anyone under 18.

Tell your doctor about

  • Any heart attack, angina, arrhythmia or heart failure.

  • Heart surgery within the past six months.

  • Raised pressure in the lung arteries.

  • Any stroke, at any time.

  • Blood pressure that is low, or high and uncontrolled.

  • A bent or structurally unusual penis.

  • Any erection that has lasted beyond four hours.

  • Sickle cell anaemia, multiple myeloma or leukaemia.

  • Retinitis pigmentosa, which runs in families.

  • Any episode of severe vision loss, particularly NAION.

  • Bleeding problems, or a history of stomach ulcers.

  • Liver problems of any severity.

  • Kidney problems, or dialysis treatment.

  • Your age, if you are over 65.

  • Every medicine you take, prescription or otherwise.

Food, drink and the sweetened formats

  • Avoid a high-fat meal in the hour before your dose.

  • Avoid grapefruit juice, which raises sildenafil levels.

  • A study gave sildenafil 50 mg with alcohol at 0.5 g per kilogram.

  • Sildenafil did not worsen alcohol’s effect on blood pressure in that study.

  • The 100 mg dose was never tested this way, so caution still applies.

  • Most of this range is 100 mg, so that caveat matters here.

  • Alcohol independently makes erections harder to achieve.

  • Jellies, chewables and effervescent tablets are sweetened and flavoured.

  • Mention diabetes to your doctor if you are watching sugar intake.

  • Never combine any of these with poppers.

Before-use checklist

  • Do I have a prescription from a doctor who knows my history?

  • Have I been told which strength, not just which product?

  • Am I certain I take no nitrate in any form, including a spray?

  • Am I free of riociguat and of poppers?

  • Am I under 65, with healthy liver and kidneys?

  • I take no tramadol, lithium, or St John’s Wort.

  • Am I stable on any alpha-blocker I take?

  • Am I clear of erythromycin, antifungals and ritonavir?

  • Has my heart been judged fit for sexual activity?

  • Have I avoided a heavy fatty meal this evening?

  • Has a full 24 hours passed since my last dose?

  • Do I know the emergency signs in Section 8?

  • Across trials, 2.5 percent of men stopped because of side effects.

  • On placebo the figure was 2.3 percent, which was not significantly different.

  • No format has been shown to reduce any of these rates.

  • Super Kamagra carries additional interactions from its dapoxetine content.

  • Those include antidepressants, MAOIs, lithium, tramadol and St John’s Wort.

  • See the Super Kamagra product page for the full combined list.

  • Sildenafil did not meaningfully affect warfarin or tolbutamide.

  • Show your doctor a written list of everything you take.

Emergency Warning Signs

These apply to every product in the range. Stop and seek urgent care if any occur:

  • An erection still present after four hours.

  • Four hours is the point of action. Do not wait for pain.

  • Untreated, this can permanently damage the penis and end potency.

  • Sudden loss of vision in one eye or both.

  • Sudden loss or reduction of hearing, with or without ringing.

  • Chest pain, dizziness or nausea once sex has begun. Stop at once.

  • Fainting, or feeling you are about to faint.

  • Slurred speech, facial droop or weakness on one side.

  • Swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat.

  • A spreading rash, particularly with blistering or peeling.

  • A seizure.

Why Choose the Kamagra Range

  • A genuinely wide choice of formats for one molecule.

  • Men who cannot swallow tablets have four alternatives.

  • Sildenafil has the longest safety record of any ED drug, since 1998.

  • Over 3,700 patients took it in pre-marketing trials alone.

  • At 100 mg, 82 percent of men reported improved erections.

  • The placebo figure was 24 percent.

  • It worked in diabetes-related ED, where response is often poor.

  • It worked after spinal cord injury and after prostate surgery.

  • Ajanta Pharma is a large listed Indian manufacturer.

  • Cost per dose is far below the originator brand.

  • The tablets and jelly both offer a correct 50 mg starting option.

What does not hold up

  • No format has fewer side effects than another at the same dose.

  • No published study shows any format acts faster than a tablet.

  • The effect does not last 6 hours. The window is about 4.

  • Kamagra is not approved or recognised in the US, EU or UK.

  • Kamagra Gold offers nothing clinically that plain Kamagra 100 does not.

  • Six of the eight products exist only at the ceiling dose.

  • No product in the range covers the 25 mg groups at all.

Storage Instructions

  • Store at 25 °C. Brief excursions from 15 to 30 °C are permitted.

  • Keep every product sealed in its original packaging until use.

  • Protect from direct sunlight, heat and moisture.

  • Do not refrigerate, and never freeze.

  • Bathrooms and parked cars are the two worst places for all formats.

  • Jelly sachets: moisture is the main risk. Discard any that leak or swell.

  • Chewables and Polo: humidity softens them. Keep sealed.

  • Effervescent: moisture ruins them. Reseal bottles tightly after each use.

  • An opened jelly sachet cannot be saved. Discard leftover gel.

  • Keep the whole range well out of children’s sight and reach.

  • Flavoured jellies, chewables and Polos all resemble sweets.

  • A locked or high cupboard is the right storage place for those formats.

  • Do not use anything past its printed expiry date.

  • Return unused medicine to a pharmacy.

  • Never share any of these products with anyone else.

Medical Disclaimer

  • General information only. Not a substitute for medical advice.

  • Sildenafil is a prescription medicine wherever it is licensed.

  • 50 mg is the usual starting dose. 100 mg is the ceiling.

  • Six of the eight Kamagra products exist only at 100 mg.

  • No Kamagra product is made at 25 mg.

  • No format has been shown to reduce side effects or act faster.

  • The effect window is about 4 hours, not 6.

  • The Kamagra brand is not approved in the US, the EU or the UK.

  • An erection lasting beyond four hours needs emergency care.

  • Have a pharmacist review this page before it goes live.

  • Always read the leaflet supplied with the product you receive.
