INQUIRE ABOUT Iverheal 12 Mg (Ivermectin)
What is Iverheal 12? Iverheal 12 is a prescription antiparasitic tablet.
Each tablet contains 12 mg of ivermectin.
Ivermectin belongs to the anthelmintic class.
It was originally developed from a soil bacterium.
It is made by Healing Pharma India Pvt. Ltd. in Mumbai.
The brand is also made at Iverheal Cream and Iverheal 6 Mg .
Intestinal strongyloidiasis, a roundworm infection of the gut.
It is caused by the parasite Strongyloides stercoralis.
Onchocerciasis, also called river blindness.
It is caused by the worm Onchocerca volvulus.
Uses the listings add, which are off-label:
Scabies, a mite infestation of the skin.
Head lice.
Cutaneous larva migrans.
Infection with Wuchereria bancrofti.
Those are recognised uses but not approved indications.
How Ivermectin Works (Mechanism of Action) The action happens in four simple steps:
Parasites have chloride channels in their nerve and muscle cells.
Ivermectin binds to and opens those channels.
That disrupts the parasite’s nervous system.
The parasite is paralysed and then dies.
Humans have a protective barrier around the brain.
A transporter protein keeps the drug out of the brain.
Toxicity therefore remains low at standard doses.
It kills the larval stage of the worm.
It does not kill the adult worms.
Adult worms must be removed surgically.
That is why repeat doses are given over months.
Blood levels peak three to six hours after a dose.
Its half-life is more than twelve hours.
It is broken down by the liver enzyme CYP3A4.
Dosage Guide by Body Weight Both tables give a single oral dose. Confirm against your prescription.
Strongyloidiasis, at about 200 micrograms per kilogram:
Body Weight Total Dose As 3 mg Tablets This 12 mg Tablet Under 15 kg Not established Not applicable Not appropriate 15 to 24 kg 3 mg One tablet Far too much 25 to 35 kg 6 mg Two tablets Twice the dose needed 36 to 50 kg 9 mg Three tablets More than needed 51 to 65 kg 12 mg Four tablets One tablet matches 66 to 79 kg 15 mg Five tablets Not enough alone 80 kg or more Calculated at 200 mcg/kg As calculated Not enough alone
Onchocerciasis, at about 150 micrograms per kilogram:

What these tables mean for a 12 mg product:
One tablet is a complete dose only in two weight bands.
Outside those bands it is either too much or too little.
The 3 mg and 6 mg strengths exist for that reason.
Do not assume one tablet is right for everyone.
Strongyloidiasis is usually a single dose.
Stool tests afterwards confirm the parasite has gone.
Immunocompromised patients may need repeat doses.
Monthly suppressive treatment is sometimes required.
Children from 15 kilograms use the same weight-based doses.
How to Take It Take it exactly as your doctor has prescribed.
Take it on an empty stomach.
One reference says at least an hour before a meal.
Swallow the tablet with a full glass of water.
Complete the course your doctor has set.
Attend any follow-up stool test arranged.
Tell your doctor about all your other medicines.
One Indian listing describes a dispersible tablet.
It says the tablet can be dissolved in water.
Another reference says do not crush or chew the tablet.
A dispersible tablet is designed to disperse; a plain one is not.
Check which form your pack contains before dissolving anything.
Abdominal pain, skin rashes or fever.
Any change in vision.
Confusion or unusual drowsiness.
Precautions Do Not Use It If: The patient weighs under 15 kilograms.
Safety and efficacy are not established below that weight.
You are in the first three months of pregnancy.
One clinical reference lists that as a contraindication.
You are allergic to ivermectin or any ingredient.
Never take a veterinary ivermectin product.
The formulations for animals are different.
A drug database says the dose can be highly toxic to humans.
Tell Your Doctor Before Use If You: Are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding.
Have a weakened immune system, including HIV.
Have liver problems .
Have any neurological condition.
Have travelled in Africa, where a related worm may be present.
Take blood thinners, corticosteroids or certain antibiotics.
Drink grapefruit juice, which may interact.
Take any other medicine or supplement.
The Reaction That Can Follow Treatment Killing parasites can itself provoke an immune reaction.
In river blindness this is called a Mazzotti reaction.
It causes fever, joint pain and swollen lymph nodes.
One reference notes it in the first four days after treatment.
Skin rash and itching are also reported.
It reflects the parasite dying, not a drug allergy.
It still needs medical assessment.
Before-Use Checklist Has a doctor confirmed a parasitic infection?
Has your weight been used to calculate the dose?
Do you know whether one tablet is your full dose?
Do you weigh at least 15 kilograms?
Could you be pregnant?
Do you have a weakened immune system?
Do you know to take it on an empty stomach?
Do you know it is not a treatment for COVID-19?
Side Effects Effects reported for ivermectin:
Side Effect Category What It Feels Like What to Do Headache Common Head pain Report if persistent Dizziness Common Light-headedness Sit down until it passes Nausea Common Queasy stomach Report if persistent Diarrhoea Common Loose stools Keep hydrated; report if severe Abdominal pain Reported Stomach discomfort Report to your doctor Skin rash or itching Reported Itchy or red skin Report; may be a parasite reaction Fever In river blindness Raised temperature Common in the first four days Joint pain In river blindness Aching joints Part of the treatment reaction Swollen lymph nodes In river blindness Tender lumps in the neck Part of the same reaction Neck or back pain Serious Persistent pain Seek medical assessment Chest discomfort Serious Pain or tightness Seek urgent care Fast heartbeat Serious Racing heart Seek medical assessment Confusion Serious Muddled thinking Seek urgent assessment Seizures Serious Fits Emergency — seek care Vision changes Serious Blurring or reduced sight Stop and seek assessment Severe allergic reaction Rare Rash, facial swelling, breathlessness Emergency — call for help
Telling the two apart matters:
Fever and joint pain often reflect the parasite dying.
Facial swelling and breathlessness suggest drug allergy.
A doctor can distinguish them; a product page cannot.
Report either promptly.
No source consulted gave percentages for these effects.
Check the pack insert for the full list.
Interactions Ivermectin is broken down by the liver enzyme CYP3A4.
Medicines affecting that enzyme may change its levels.
One listing names blood thinners as an interaction.
It names corticosteroids and certain antibiotics.
It says grapefruit and grapefruit juice may interact.
It advises avoiding alcohol during treatment.
Give your doctor a complete list of your medicines.
Include supplements and herbal remedies.
Mention any recent travel and any other parasite treatment.
Warning Signs – Seek Medical Help Seek urgent medical care if you have:
A seizure.
Confusion or a marked change in alertness.
Sudden vision changes.
Chest pain or a racing heartbeat.
Swelling of the face, lips or throat.
A widespread rash with breathlessness.
Fever or joint pain develops after treatment.
Abdominal pain becomes severe.
A rash appears or worsens.
Your symptoms do not improve after the course.
Stool tests confirm the parasite has been cleared.
In river blindness, adult worms survive the treatment.
Repeat doses may be needed over months.
Why Choose Iverheal 12? Benefits when clinically appropriate:
Ivermectin cures most cases of intestinal strongyloidiasis.
Approved labelling cites cure rates of 64 to 100 percent.
That follows a single weight-based dose.
It is a mainstay of river blindness control programmes.
A single dose is often the whole treatment.
Three strengths exist so the dose can be matched to weight.
Honest balance for the buyer:
The dose depends on body weight, not on the tablet.
One 12 mg tablet suits only certain weight bands.
It does not kill adult river blindness worms.
It is not approved for COVID-19 anywhere.
Treatment reactions can cause fever and joint pain.
Prices for the same molecule vary enormously.
Storage Instructions Store below 30°C, per the Indian listing.
Keep the tablets in their strip until use.
Protect them from moisture and direct sunlight.
Do not refrigerate unless your pack says to.
Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
Check the expiry date before use.
Return unused tablets to a pharmacy take-back scheme.
